AI Resources for Teachers Over the summer a group of VUSD educators met to explore and experiment with some of the AI programs for teachers.  There are so many new products bursting onto the scene, that it's hard to keep up with it all. We created a slide deck containing some of our favorites.  Each slide briefly explains what the AI tool can do, along with a tutorial video on how to use it. We also created a Padlet with multiple AI uses and resources.  Links below. Using Generative AI as Your TA

Image
Using Generative AI as Your TA By Robby Tabor*       Hey there, fellow VUSD teachers! I wanted to share with you all how I've been using generative AI (specifically ChatGPT) to make my life as a teacher a little easier.  📝 Multiple Choice Quizzes : First off, creating multiple-choice quizzes can be a real pain sometimes, right? That's where ChatGPT comes in! With just a few clicks, I can generate a ton of questions to test my students' understanding of the material. It's a lifesaver! Example : “I'm going to give you a question and an answer. Can you turn it into a multiple-choice question, make each answer the same length, and put an asterisk next to the correct answer? Question: “__________”. Answer: __________” “I'm going to give you some texts. I want you to read them and come up with multiple-choice questions and answers, and indicate which answer is correct with an asterisk. Make each answer the same length. The overall goal of the questions should

ChatGPT and other uses of Artificial Intelligence in Education

Image
ChatGPT / AI in Education The above image was created with an AI Image generator with the following input.   "an image about artificial intelligence in education with a renaissance masters art style" No more searching Google for an image that fits your subject matter! Just create it! By now,  you have all probably heard about the latest artificial intelligence program ChatGPT (Generative Pre-training Transformer).   See this video explaining what AI is and how it can  be harnessed for learning. Perhaps you have only heard of it as a method for students to automatically generate essays and research papers that are not of their own creation.  Often, the output results from ChatGPT are undetectable by the most common plagiarism software such as Turnitin and Google Classroom.  For this reason, many teachers are quick to dismiss it as nothing but a cheater's tool.  However, let's take a look at some of the beneficial uses of such programs because let's face it; it is
